On September 12th 2018, a very special Post-16 Presentation Evening was held in the Main Hall of the academy. The Class of 2018 will be fondly remembered as the last cohort of students to have achieved their Post-16 qualifications at CTC Kingshurst Academy.
The evening was made even more special by the fact that the group of students made up one of the strongest year groups and was full of talented, well-motivated and thoroughly pleasant young people. There were several references made to the exemplary manner in which the students supported each other and how close a working relationship had been built with the staff who supported them. Results were impressive with pride of place deservedly going to Alexandra Birch for achieving 41 points on the International Baccalaureate Diploma. Students studying BTEC qualifications achieved average grades of D*DD, an amazing feat.
There was a great deal of warmth on display for the two winners of the Principal’s Cup, Bradley Montgomery and Elise Smith. Both students achieved very high standards on their respective courses and were entirely diligent and committed throughout their time in Post-16. Both gave a great deal of time to support other people and were the epitome of good citizens.
The following students won the Special Awards:
|The Principal’s Cup – for outstanding contributions to academy life||Elise Smith & Bradley Montgomery|
|Outstanding commitment to CAS (community) activities||Jennifer Hall|
|Outstanding achievement on work experience||Leigh Hughes|
|Outstanding progress on a Post-16 course||Alexandra Birch|
