Introducing the BRONTE Team

All year students have been assigned to a form in the Bronte college.

During registration every student is allocated to a Maths, English or Science Tutor group. As well as a focus on the pastoral needs of the students we now use the time for extra subject specific intervention. This gives students an extra hour and a half of core subject support each week.

  • Monday – Assembly/assigned College activity
  • Tuesday – Maths, English or Science specific intervention (dependant on the form in which you child is in)
  • Wednesday – Maths, English or Science specific intervention (dependant on the form in which you child is in)
  • Thursday – Maths, English or Science specific intervention (dependant on the form in which you child is in)

Revision

It is essential that your child undertakes additional independent revision throughout Year 11. Information on revision techniques and strategies will be shared with students through their Form Time programme and can be found in the KH – Year 11 TEAMs folder

Revision guides can be purchased from the IC via parent pay. This is often at a reduced price to what you would normally find in the shops and have been recommended by our subject specialists. Samples of these are available to browse in the Information Centre.

There are huge range of website out there that can support your child through their revision. A few that we recommend are:

https://senecalearning.com/en-GB/ – covers a wide range of subjects that students can sign up to for free.

https://vle.mathswatch.co.uk/vle/ – covers all maths topics for both foundation and higher tiers

https://www.my-gcsescience.com/ – covers all 3 sciences for students studying both the combined and triple course

https://qualifications.pearson.com/en/home.html – Edexcel exam board website where students can find specifications and past papers*

https://ocr.org.uk/ – OCR exam board website where students can find specifications and past papers*

https://www.aqa.org.uk/ – AQA exam board website where students can find specifications and past papers*

*A list of Exam Boards for specific subjects can be found here

As well as these, staff have placed resources into the class TEAMs accounts and more can be found in the Year 11 TEAMs page.
