Ben studied the IB at the CTC, with subjects including sports science, geography, Spanish and business. During his final year at the CTC, Ben decided to study geography and geology at the University of Birmingham. This was because he had really enjoyed the physical aspects of the geography module during his IB study. After being accepted on the course and having studied hard for three years, he was awarded with a first-class degree. He was then offered a job as a geotechnical engineer with a company in Smethwick, which he accepted.
Ben now conducts ground investigations for a wide variety of building and remediation projects throughout the Midlands and the rest of the UK, providing geotechnical and geochemical assessments for some of the largest construction and housing companies in the UK.
Be positive, work hard, but also enjoy your time at the CTC, as you can make many happy memories there. Only with having the correct mind-set and working hard, though, will you put yourself in a position to enable yourself to create many more after you have left!
Be positive, work hard, but also enjoy your time.
