AQA Law A-Level:
Students studying A-Level Law follow the AQA A-Level Law (7162) specification.
Law A-level is a great way to get into many exciting careers. It allows students not only the chance to understand and learn the laws of the country, but a chance to evaluate the utility and purpose of these laws with specialist examples in case law.
The course is assessed through three written examination papers:
- Criminal Law
- Tort Law
- Contract Law and Human Rights
All three papers also include questions relating to the Nature of Law, helping students develop a broader understanding of how law is created, applied and developed.
Students will study 3 topics: Criminal, Tort and Contract/Human Rights.
These topics underpin many integral parts of our society and gives students an understanding of their rights in the wider world.
There are 3 papers which are all 2 hours long. Each paper is on one of the above topics and includes questions on the Nature of Law also. The papers are all out of 100 marks, including two 30 marks questions on the application of the law to specific case examples.
