These are some online tools you can use to report things online and control a phone:

  • Report remove tool. You can use this to make a report of images online. They will then help with getting the image removed  – https://www.childline.org.uk/info-advice/bullying-abuse-safety/online-mobile-safety/report-remove/
  • Google Family Link – Allows you to lock the phone so it cannot be used and enable/ disable apps.
  • MM Guardian – Alerts you to if any searches or conversations being had are inappropriate. For an example, you will get alerts to say if something has been searched or sent which comes under the categories of Drugs, Pornography, Weapons, Adult sites, Bullying, etc.
  • Life 360 – This is an app which tracks the phone and will tell you a child’s location.

September 2023: The Internet Watch Foundation is reporting a worrying increase in criminal acts of sextortion with older teen boys (14-17) most at risk. We know that many students won’t report for a variety of different reasons, this is why knowledge of the Report Remove tool is increasingly important.
